Meet Dustin Macaulay, a talented musician from Claremont. He has been making waves in the local music scene with his raspy voice and gripping guitars.
Dustin got his start in music at a very young age, beginning with piano at age 5 and winning first place in a piano competition with the Royal Conservatory of Music in 1988. By age 12, he was playing drums and guitars. After 1 month of guitar lessons, he quit and decided to learn on his own playing by ear and writing his own music. I’m the late 90’s, his older brother, Shane, ran a website called Ontario Punk dot com, and he was always introducing Dustin new music that has helped shape and form him into the passionate musician he is today. Dustin has always had a love for performing, and began playing at bon-fires, parties, and open mic’s. In his 20’s, he began performing with full bands on stages across the Durham Region, Toronto, and Kawartha Lakes, many times even solo including some shows in Florida.
As Dustin honed his craft and gained a loyal following, he started to branch out and perform at larger venues and events. His unique blend of folk, rock, and punk won over audiences and earned him a reputation as a rising star in the local music community.
In addition, Dustin is also the founder and member of the popular band, Panic Hero, and will be recording and releasing several EPs with the group.
When Dustin isn't performing, he enjoys writing and recording new music and collaborating with other musicians. He is always looking for new ways to write and discover music while evolving as an artist.
If you're a fan of authentic, heartfelt music, be sure to catch Dustin at his next gig, and find him online. He is sure to leave you feeling good with his talent and passion.
